They gave birth to four children; Kadra Ann (1984), Andrea Lynn (1986), David Eugene (1990), and Emily Kristine (1992), all in Fargo. Robert retired from his career as a cosmetologist and went back to school in 1990 at North Dakota State University in Fargo working toward an interior design degree. After his divorce in 1995, Robert moved back to Tacoma, Washington. He worked as a general contractor and carpenter doing design, landscape, and deck work.
