Obituary of Geneva Theresa Smith

Born on may 15th 1925 in Gordan Nebraska to George and Clarice Scott. Siblings are Vern, Phillip, Herald, Ruth ann (who died at birth), and Nina. Vern is the only surviving sibling. Gevea moved from Gorden Nebraska to Spokane Washington while still in grade school, then moved to Gopher Valley Oregon and graduated from Sheriden High School in 1943. She then went to work for her aunt and uncle up in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta Canada where she met Jerry Novak. They married on December 24 1947 and moved to Sheriden Oregon. They had 4 children together in order of Ruth, Curtis, Patrick and Jerry James . Jerry and Geneva moved to Portland Oregon in 1963. Geneva was a house wife but did work for a short time in a dress shop. In 1976 they moved to Vancover Washington. Jerry Novak passed away in 1978. Then in 1979 Geneva met James A. Smith (Jim) and they married in 1980. Jim passed away in 1997 and Geneva moved to Tacoma Washington in 1998 with daughter Ruth and granddaughter Penny. Geneva was then diagnosed with alzheimer's in 2003 and was cared for full time by her daughter Ruth Ann Novak. Geneva T. Smith went to rest on November 17th 2011. She is survived by her 4 children, 10 grandchildren (thresa lynn passed 6mo after birth in 1973) and 12 great grandchildren. Geneva was a loving mother, aunt, sister, grandma and great-grandma. She is no longer with us but those who were touched by her will always have a place for her in our hearts! We loved her very much and will miss her even more! I thought of you with love today but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterd and days before that too. I think of you in silence I often speak your name. All I have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is my keepsake with which I'll never part, the angels have you in their keeping I have you in my heart!
