Obituary of Shirley May Hidalgo

Shirley May Hidalgo was born February 7, 1946 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Howard & Erma Campbell. Shirley, known as Ginga to her immediate family, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2010 with loved ones standing by her side. Ginga is survived by her son Jeffrey Campbell, her daughter Sabrina Wittig & husband Kai Wittig; her grandchildren Tabitha Byrne & husband Mackenzie Byrne, Savannah, Madalynn, & Caiden Campbell, Andre, Tyler, Josquin, Kaionti, Giovonni & Teiliona Wittig, Jeffrey Schneider & wife Carol Schnieder; her great-grandchildren Angelus, Jaedon & Gabriel Byrne. As well as five beloved surviving siblings and a very large, loving extended family and friends. Ginga loved to travel and see new places. She explored several careers in her lifetime, but the one she found most fulfilling was her time as an in-home caregiver for her dear friend Mrs. Harvey. She loved God and read her Bible faithfully everyday. Ginga also enjoyed playing Dr. Mario with her grandkids, doing crossword puzzles, and crocheting stuffed animals, blankets & other gifts for her family. Some of her favorite songs were Amazing Grace, The Old Rugged Cross and One Day at a Time. One of her favorite passages from the Bible was Psalms 23: The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
