Obituary of Max Ai Warren

Major (Retired) Max Ai Warren, born September 9, 1923 in Oregon City, Oregon, was called home to be with our Lord March 6, 2009 at Franciscan House in University Place, WA. Max joined the US Navy to serve in World War II, he was discharged in 1945. After attending Butte Montana School of Mines and the University of Washington, ROTC program, he began serving our country in the United States Army. Max is a Veteran of three wars (World War II, Korea, and Viet Nam). Max retired from the service in 1966 at Fort Lewis, Washington. He worked for Bell South in Portland, Oregon and spent more time with his family and his favorite pastimes, camping, fishing and woodworking. He and his loving wife spent time living and working in Oregon, Florida and Texas before finally retiring in Tacoma WA, where they have lived for the past eighteen years. Major (Ret) Max Warren is survived by his wife of 64 years, Loraine Larios Warren; his 5 children and their spouses: Michael and Nancy Warren of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Loralee and Col. (Ret) Gary Tonniges of Lubbock, Texas, Candis and MSG (Ret) Steve Sollars of Astoria, Oregon, SSG (Ret) Lance and Heather Warren of Tacoma, Washington and SFC (Ret) Donald and Delma Warren of Tacoma, Washington. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services with Military Honors will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 Southeast 240th Street, Kent, Washington 98402 on 17 March 2009 at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to Franciscan Hospice House, 2901 Bridgeport Way West, University Place, WA 98466.
