Obituary of Patricia Nelle Sampson

Always ready to do her best, With a heart so true and tender, She devoted her life to those she loved, And those she loved remember. Patricia was born to Melvin and Nelle Walton (Brown) in Bellingham, WA. She spent her childhood and much of her adult life in the Tacoma area, graduating from Stadium High in 1948. On September 28, 1950, she married George W. Stevenson, a marriage that would last for over 20 years. On June 27, 1972, she married Clifford Sampson and was married to him until his death in 1999. Pat moved to Ocean Shores, WA. in 2002 and lived there with her companion Robert Sampson. Pat's greatest joy was her family and her presence made life easier for everyone around her. She leaves behind her companion, Robert Sampson; three children, Michael G. Stevenson (Lydia), Debra A Slingland (Bruce), Linda L. Hardwick (William);one stepdaughter, Debbie Smith; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. She loved big family gatherings and playing "Santa" at Christmas time. She enjoyed traveling the country in her motor home with family and her beloved dogs. She made regular trips with her parents to Reno where they gambled on the penny machines. Her other hobbies included: gardening, cooking and researching the family ancestry. Her kind heart and generous nature will be missed by all that knew her. There will be a celebration of her life on Sunday, October 25th from 2 - 4 pm at the home of Debbie and Bruce Slingland. Please email for directions at deb_sling@comcast.net
