Obituary of Zbigniew B. Piniasz

Zbigniew was born on May 22, 1951 in Wroclaw, Poland to Boleslaw and Leokadia Piniasz. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Danuta and son Rafael; along with sister Elizabeth and brother Mark. God mercifully took our husband and our father home on June 8, 2010 after a brief and sudden struggle with cancer. Zbigniew grew up in Wroclaw Poland. While in Poland he discovered his passion for the restaurant business where he served many functions from cook, to bartender, to waiter and finally a recognized chef. Ever since he was a little boy his dream was to come to America and live the American dream. That dream was realized when he arrived in Chicago in 1988. After few years in Chicago he took his family and moved to Los Angeles until 1994. While in California he found a new passion and that was construction. Following a four year stay in Los Angeles and looking for greener pastures he moved his family to Washington. Upon arriving in Washington he worked as a cook on an Alaska fishing ship and his travels also took him to Korea. But that was short lived as the time away from family was too much to bear, so he quickly became a master craftsman and found a new passion working with tile and marble. He continued to pursue the American dream and became his own boss of a successful business. He was able to achieve his American dream when he completely remodeled a home, which was the eye sore of the neighborhood and turned it into a gem. He took great pride in showing off his home with top to bottom tours to anyone who showed an interest in the house. He worked as a sub-contractor, but also ensured that all of his family and friends have tile or marble in their homes. He continued this business until the month before he passed away. Zbigniew was dedicated to his work, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends. Family and friends time consisted of fun, games and making everybody laugh which was one of his specialties. The other passion that he had was for entertaining and cooking. He loved animals and carrying for sick ones. He also loved to travel and enjoyed trips back to Poland, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii and cruises in the Caribbean. During down times, Zbigniew sought solitude in fishing and reading up on current events. A Service to celebrate Zbigniew life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 12th at Puyallup Community Baptist Church 1318 9th Avenue SW Puyallup, Washington 98371.
