Obituary of Robin Linse Tutton

Robin was born on July 10th, 1956 in Spokane, WA. She was the younger of two children born to James and Francis Tutton. James Tutton, Jr, was her only brother. Robin had a gentle nature with a deep concern for others – her family, friends and neighbors. Nobody was to go without and she remembered everyone’s special occasions, which she honored. Here deepest love though was for her mother and father, brother and sister-in-law, her niece and nephew and two great-nieces and two great-nephews, the latter of which she treated as if they were her own children. Even during her battles with early on-set juvenile diabetes to her last years dealing with melanoma, she was the in-home caregiver for her mother and father. During these many arduous years she never said “Why me?” Robin lived the majority of her life in the Spokane Valley, the area she loved dearly, where she attended schools in the Central Valley School District culminating with graduation from University High School. During her time at Central Valley Junior High she was the school mascot. Robin’s first employment was with the Spokane Valley Herald, the local weekly newspaper as a receptionist and advertising sales coordinator. Later she worked for Quality Resources in the Spokane Valley as its office manager. The hallmark of her credentials was her attention to details, which earned her the ultimate praise from her employers. Robin loved to garden where she provided fresh vegetables for the family meals and flowers for all the neighbors and friends to enjoy. She even purchased special seeds to grow the great pumpkin! Also she was a big Gonzaga University basketball fan, sitting as close to the television as possible to catch every play. Holidays were her favorite times of the year. This meant the annual 4th of July party at “Splash Down” at Mission Park and lavish Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. These were all special times for Robin, as all the family would gather together. Again her attention to detail from meal planning to setting the table with favorite dishes left nothing to chance. Robin is survived by her brother Jim (Sandy), her only niece Dawn (Matt) Phillips, her only nephew, Jim (Angela) Tutton, III, two great nieces Michaela and Kaylin and two great-nephews Ryan and Jason. There will be a private family celebration of life. Robin suggested that memorial donations might be made to either of the following local area foundations in her name in lieu of flowers: Cancer Awareness and Research Expansion Foundation, P.O. Box 1314, Tacoma, WA 98401, or The Franciscan Hospice House, University Place, by logging on to www.fhshealth.org and clicking on “Make an Online Donation”.
