Obituary of Karen Louise Bjorem

This is written with love and admiration of Karens Children and family. Karen Bjorem born 4th child of 7 to Harvey and Ottie Morse on September 12, 1941. She peacefully passed away at Franciscan Hospice House with her children at her side on December 4, 2011. Karen has always been the one to be there for her family. She nursed her daughter Lori duing her last days while fighting cancer. She has been there to care for anyone who needed her as long as she was physically able, and even times when she wasn't. The past couple months of her life had been extremely hard on her as she has had to depend on others to care for her. Mom is loved and admired by her husband, children, grand children, great grandchildren, sisters, nieces, nephews and several very dear friends. She would be humbled at the number of people that loved and admired her and her strength. Everything she has done in life was done from her heart.....so no mistakes there. Her love of her family surpasses any other thing in the universe. She had lived with COPD for many years, yet it never stopped her from living a full active life. She owned businesses, traveled, explored the Southwest on horseback and foot. Always agile, loved tumbling on the floor with her children and grandchildren. She married Arvid Bjorem on August 21, 1983 and was happily married until the day she passed on. They lived in Burien and Mill Creek most of their married life. In 2005 they moved to AZ to retire in the land of sun. She enjoyed the sunshine and having her sisters close by. They were able to relive some of their childhood memories with teaparties etc..... In 2010 they moved back to Seattle because her health was declining so they moved into a cute little apartment. Much smaller than they were use to, however, I recall her saying that it was like a" honeymoon apartment small and comfortable built just for 2" she said that she felt like a newlywed all over again. Seems that this past year went by fairly quickly and mom grew more and more tired yet never complained, she spent all day Thanksgiving with us and enjoyed her family and grandchildren. This was to be her last holiday with her family. The few days that followed she was not resting well and was becoming very weak. On November 29 she went in to the Franciscan Hospice House where she spent her last few days with her family around her at all times. Many hours that we will never forget. How do you say good bye to such a wonderful person that has been such a big part of your life? We don't we just say until we meet again. We love you forever in our hearts, your family!
