Obituary of Terrance Robert Irish

Terry was born on 9/7/1937 in Bismarck, ND and passed away on 4/7/2009 in University Place, Wa. He is preceded in death by his father and mother Casper and Gertrude sister Virginia(Armstrong); Brothers Jim; Jennings. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Toni; son's Steve (Jeanna);Robert (Penny);Dave (Sheila);John; Kevin; Kerry; 7 Grandchildren; Christopher; Michelle; Tiffany; Leevi; Nicole; Justin; Cheyenne 8 Great Grandchildren. Brothers and Sister Tom; LaVerne(Parham); Harley; John; and George and numerous extended family members and friends. Terry had many talents and loved wood working and tinkering with cars. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Navy from (1955-1960) and was a retired meat cutter of 39 yrs. Local UFCW Meat Cutters union #367. He took his work very seriously but always had a good sense of humor. He taught all of his boys the skills they would need in life and to always be responsible for their own actions. He built a huge garage where he spent many hours with us boys whether building something or working on our cars (The city of University Place even contacted him about running an auto repair shop without a license on the property. He had to explain that all the cars were his sons not customers) He was always looking for that dumaflitcher or thingamajig. He had a habit of yelling at us where's my wrench, screwdriver or what ever it might have been and we always had to tell him it's in your back pocket dad. His reply would be who put it there! He and our mom loved to travel by car any chance they could get away. They had purchased a lot at a private camping club in Lacy where they spent many hours until it got to be too hard for him to get around. We know he missed that a lot. We know he is without pain now and working on many projects and Dad check your back pockets! A celebration of his life to be held at 1pm on June 21, 2009 at the Family Home 4618 Sunset Dr W University Place, WA. In lew of flowers please make donations to Monarch Association (Helping the less fortunate with Food,Clothes,Education and Job Placement) 15413 1st Ave Ct. S. Suite #H-3 Tacoma, WA. 98445 THANK YOU
