Obituary of Elwyn Roy Smith

Elwyn Roy "Runt" Smith of Lakewood, Wa was born in Apache, Oklahoma June 13, 1928 to Roy W. and Alice Jones Smith. He passed away March 16, 2011 at St. Clare Hospital, Lakewood, Wa. Elwyn grew up and was educated in the Apache, Oklahoma area. He was an Army veteran, retired from the Fort Lewis Dept. of Defense, and farmed in Oklahoma and Eastern Washington for many years. Although he lived in Washington state over 55 years, he remained an Oklahoman at heart. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Billie D. Smith. He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Eva Jo Kitchens Smith; daughters: Krysta Brashler (Kenneth) of Ellensburg,Wa. and Kimberly Coffin of Lakewood, Wa.;sister, Annette Knudsen (Richard) of Pueblo, Co.; grandchildren: Zachary and Caleb Brashler of Ellensbury, Wa. and Cora Coffin of Lakewood, Wa.; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Elwyn was much loved. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
