Obituary of Millburn Levette Harris

Millburn Levette Harris was born June 16, 1957 to Reverend Leonard L. and Rosie R. Harris in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from Los Angeles High School and studied Accounting at Texas Southern University and California State University, Northridge. Millburn also served in the United States Air Force as a Bioenvironmental Engineer Specialist at March AFB, California. Millburn accepted Christ as his Savior at a young age and faithfully served in various ministries during his youth. He utilized his gift of song through singing to the glory of God and directing choirs. Millburn accepted his Call as a Minister of the Gospel in 1986 and was ordained in 1999. He served as an associate minister in Los Angeles at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor J. Roy Morrison and in Tacoma at True Harvest Baptist Church under Pastor Julius James, New Salem Baptist Church under Pastor Larry Jones, Eastside Baptist Church under Pastor Arthur Banks and Galilee Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Steven Lee. Millburn had a heart for God’s people and his sincere desire was that everyone he knew would know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Along with his witness for Christ, Millburn was passionate about cooking and was known for his culinary skills. His famous BBQ ribs and “Daddy Beans” were all the rage and a popular request at church and family functions, but his passion was not exclusive to food. Millburn was an avid professional basketball and football fan. A staunch Los Angeles Lakers and Oakland Raiders fan, he did not hesitate to share his pride with rival fans wherever he was and wore his team colors proudly. Millburn was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Rosie Harris, and leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Jacquelyn; daughters Marselais Victoria (Kevin) Peltier and Roberta Alyse Clifton; brother, William T. Hall Jr.; sisters, Mary Ann Hall, Brenda Hall, Michelle Harris-Watkins and Bridgit (Terry) Williams; grandchildren, Savaughn Levette Harris, Camarah JaNiece Clifton, Kaylah Renee Peltier, Tevin Joshua Peltier and Laila Maie Peltier; as well as a host of relatives and friends
