I just wanted to personally thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences. I miss her dearly, but memory is a blessed gift we all have to remember her by. I feel especially blessed that I have certain physical characteristics of hers that brings a smile to my face, (Darn it, I didn't inherit her infectious smile though). When Mike, her husband, told me that after leaving the funeral home where the viewing was held, he turned on the radio and the announcer said the next tune was by The Cedar Walton Trio, one of her favorite jazz groups, I knew she was happy and ok. Even more so because it was the exact same artist that the funeral home was playing when he left. If that's not a sign/message from her, I don't know what is! YOU GO, MOM!!!.:-) We all miss you. Mother, I Love You! Your next journey will be even sweeter. Your daughter, Renee (Dolly).

Bobbi and I shared a wonderful friendship. We met at KTVU. She was always gracious and fun loving. We had numerous adventures together. She was a very special lady. I loved her New York, Jazzy kind of spirit that she sprinkled into our hearts and minds. I am deeply sadened to hear of her passing. God bless.

We met in '77 at Channel 2 and we became friends instantly from that day. Bobbi was like my big sister-a good woman and my special friend.I remember her well and will truly miss her. We had big fun and shared so much laughter and that wonderful smile of hers made you feel good all over. Bobbi always made you feel comfortable. In the old days we would visit her and she would cook some of the tastiest meals you would ever put down! That was Bobbi. She would advise me on those 'growing pains' and it went something like that wonderful ole' jazz ballad 'Do nothing until you hear from me'. Whenever she and Michael were traveling in the world, I would receive a postcard. Bobbi will always have a special place in my heart-I trusted her.She was the most beautiful Bride I'd ever seen. She and Michael fell in love and as they say 'the beat goes on.' Michael, my sincerest condolences to you, Bobbi would express to me the wonderful life the two of you shared. Renee, your Mom would boast about your business skills and ideas, she was quite proud of you. Michael, I met you when your Mom and I visited her brother in Los Angeles in 1986. Scooter, it's been a long time, my deepest sympathies to all of you and your children. Thanks again my friend, for being my friend. Some endearing names you would refer to me as...Ms. Thang and Toots! Always, Gwendolyn

Hi my dear baby,Surely you are in the Land of Tranquil Light, with all the Buddhas & bodhisattvas, and being caressed by breezes of eternity, happiness, true self & purity. To Michael, the husband, Bobbi's family and all of her friends, I am happy to know that she was happy in those last 16 years. If no one knew, I did. We first met in 1974.The joy in her voice that I heard when Bobbi called to say she was married, never changed. Bobbi & Michael loved each other beautifully. To the grand-daughters that I met in Harlem, If you need to talk & plan your future, feel free to call me. My prayers are with you always and forever. I will carry your grace and charm in my heart forever, Bobbi because you and I never had to wonder who we were. With the Gohonzon, we were always winners. So happy that we got to laugh together a few weeks ago. Rest now baby.XOXOXOX The Flower-child.

Bobbi's spirit was one that could not be contained. If she has ever been in your presence, her essence would remain. I feel blessed that our friendship last for over 30 years. Her passing was close and personal; filling us all with tears. My dear sister has finally gotten her wings. Now I'll envision Bobbi as she flies and sings. I love you Bobbi. . .always! Madeline

Dear friends and extended family members; On behalf of all of the family and relatives that bobbie left behind I would like to extend a deep heart-felt thank you for your support and loving in our time of truly great loss. Though my mother (Bobbi) is gone her spirit still lends all of us great comfort and support. Bobbi was truly an outgoing person who could light up a room simply by entering it. She will be greatly missed. Thank you al, from all of us in the Herness/Lewis family.

I met Bobbi 11+ years ago. She had a boken foot and was working out at the gym. We talked and I offered to help her with her grocery shopping, and that was the beginning of a GREAT friendship. She also introduced me to my husband David who was playing at Yoshi's, a Jazz/Blues place. Michael and David became good friends as well....dinners on Fridays; re-arranging each others furniture; laughing and sharing just 'stuff'. She was like a sister to me an I love her dearly!!! And she Loved her red...everything practically was red or had red in it. Bobbi was so beautiful and so full of life! We love you Bobbi, and you will ALWAYS be with us in spirit and will be remembered in all the memories that we've shared. I will always remember your fantastic smile and contageous laugh!! Michael, Remember ifyou ever need anything at all, just holler. We will always be in touch...you are family. Love, Juls @ David
