Obituary of Clarence LeeRoy Pierce

Clarence LeeRoy Pierce "Popcorn" was born August 28, 1936 to Sam and Mabel Pierce in Kelso, WA. He passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Franciscan Hospice House in University Place after a valiant battle with melanoma. Lee is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Tyler; daughter, LeeAnn; grandson, Darrion Swinton; his special nephew, Dale Pierce of Sun Lakes, AZ; and numerous extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers John and Sherm Pierce. He was known for his kindness, quick wit, unending positive attitude, love for his family, his Austin Healy car, golfing with his friends and watching the Mariners. Lee taught in the Kelso School system where he coached basketball and track and served as vice principal at Coweeman Jr. High until he moved to Tacoma to work with Readers Digest in the fund raising division in 1975. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory can be made to a charity of your choice or to the Tacoma Rescue Mission. Arrangements by Edwards Memorial 253-566-1008.
