Obituary of Edgar Wayne Anderson

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend left us after an intense and courageous battle with lung cancer displaying grace and dignity to the very end. Andy was born in Baltimore, MD to Mildred Marie (Groves) and Aaron Goodloe Anderson. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by Ethel “Peggy”, his loving wife of 41 years, daughters Elizabeth “Beebe” (Edward) Nadolskey, Wendy (Steve) Jones and sons Robert “Bob” (Jen) Anderson and Andrew “Andy” Fedarko, granddaughters, Becca, Emily, Kelsey, Marissa, Alexi and Angel. His father, Aaron, preceded him in death. After graduation from High School in Lorain, Ohio, Andy joined the Air Force in 1961 and proudly served his country as an electrician. Reenlisting in 1965 at Westover AFB, Massachusetts in 1965 and serving 1 tour of duty in Viet Nam during 1967-68. Andy was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1969 from McChord AFB, WA and in 1969 Andy began working for St. Regis Lumber Company in Tacoma, WA as a maintenance electrician, retiring from Simpson Lumber Company in 2009. He had a very strong work ethic and was very passionate about his work and dedicated to his job. Andy was a special person, who was very proud of his family where he was a great mentor and influence in their lives and the lives of those that knew him. He was funny, patient, brilliant and loyal. His thoughtfulness and kind heart were a gift to all that knew him. He was slow to anger and eager to lend a helping hand to family, friends and those in need. There was never a doubt that his word was good and could be honored. He was an accomplished, self-taught musician; he loved fishing, classic cars and spending time working on his house and land and spending quality time with his family. Andy was a private person who devoted his life and love to his family. We will miss his wisdom, his sense of humor, his generosity, we will miss him. Andy also leaves behind his Mother, Mildred, and 6 siblings, Harold (Vel) Anderson, Lowell (Patti) Anderson. Mary (Mel) Westover, Robert (Becky) Anderson, Nancy Anderson, and Millie (Alan) Steele and many nieces and nephews. At Andy’s request, there will be no services.
