Obituary of Jacqueline Katherine Yerkes

Jackie passed away peacefully on January 7, 2010 at her residence in Gig Harbor, WA with her family by her side. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Friend and Teacher. Jackie was born and raised in Marysville, California. She attended UC Berkeley and Chico State where she obtained her Life Teaching Certificate. She was an educator for more than 35 years, most of which were spent teaching art classes at Yuba Gardens Intermediate School in Olivehurst, CA. She retired from Marysville Joint Unified School District in 1992. Jackie devoted her life to raising her three children and to her teaching career. She touched many lives by sharing her love and passion for the arts, sports, gardening, her Irish heritage and her country. She is survived by her three children, Charles Yerkes, Katherine Bruno and Marylou Day; five grandchildren, Jack Duncan, Anthony Duncan, Marianne Bruno, Vince Bruno, and Joey Bruno. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Jackie on Saturday, April 3 at 1pm at the Finnish Hall 4090 Rocklin Rd.
