She is survived by her adoring husband of 48 years Bob Hardcastle, children Barbara Houser, Stormy O'Briant (Becky), Rocky O'Briant, John Hardcastle (Jean), and Kari Monreal (John). Two brothers Chester Brink and Bill France along with her 10 grand children, Krystel, Kari, Sean, Nikki, Jacob, Ashley, Rocky, Jackie, Sara and Tyler and 5 great-grandchildren. At her request a celebration of life will be held on January 24th, 2012 at 3PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, located at 5236 East B St. Tacoma WA. Arrangements by Edwards Memorial Center 253-566-1008. Inez was born in the small village of Tekonta, Alaska on December 29, 1934. At the age of three, she moved to Seattle for hip repair where she resided with her Aunt Inez and Uncle Emil Daviscourt. She attended Saint Mary’s Academy in Winlock, WA and at the age of 14 returned to Anchorage where she met her first husband, Walter. They had 3 children; Barbara, Kathy and Larry. At the age of 19 she met her second husband, Stoney, and had 2 more children, Stormy and Rocky. Inez always said that three times was a charm! In 1963 she met and married the love of her life, CW04 Robert (Bob) Hardcastle. The following year Bob was transferred to Norton Air Force Base, so Bob and then pregnant Inez moved to San Bernardino, CA with daughter, Barbara. In November the family welcomed their son, John. Three years later their daughter, Kari was born. Bob retired from the Air Force in 1972 and the family moved to Tacoma, WA. Inez’s happiest moments were when she was surrounded by her family, especially during the holidays. From redecorating the house to transforming the back yard, Inez never slowed down, always had a project going. She often said that her house was so serene she could hardly stand it. She loved to go shopping, (her favorite hobby), spoiling everyone. When she got sick with cancer, and had to slow down, she discovered QVC. She actually said a few weeks ago: “QVC will probably go out of business the day after I pass!!” Inez discovered that there was more to life than a bottle of wine and for the last 32 years devoted her life to helping countless others “Trudge the Road to Happy Destiny”. She found strength in a Higher Power and is now walking hand in hand with the Sunlight of the Spirit. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. Mom helped write this a few days before she passed and told us that she wants her ashes scattered over her beloved front yard, (to beautify it even more). Thanks for the memories, we will miss you, Mom. The family requests donations be made to the Cancer Society in the name of Inez Hardcastle.
