Obituary of Floyd Nitschke

Born 9/10/1942 to Jacob and Pauline Nitschke in Ashley, ND and passed away surrounded by his loving family 1/14/2008 in Tacoma, WA. Floyd served in the US Army for 2 years in Vietnam and settled in Tacoma, WA. He co-owned and operated Shorty’s Auto Detail with his twin brother Roy for 25 years until retirement in 2006. His hobbies included: fishing, tinkering in his garage, meticulous garden, lawn care, and keeping his car clean (whether it needed it or not). Floyd is survived by his loving companion Jean Kalk; 2 sons, Floyd (Gayle), Edward; daughter, LeAnn (Rob) Kriebel; 3 brothers, Phil of Tacoma, WA, Oscar (Phyllis) of St. Joseph, MO, Roy (Norma); 7 step-children; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; and extended family members. Floyd was preceded in death by his brother Marvin in 1950’s. Memorial service to be held 1PM Saturday 1/26 at Lakeview Chapel, 4606 108th st. SW, Lakewood, WA. The family wishes to thank the Franciscan Health System all they did. Arrangements by Edwards Memorial Center 253-566-1008.
