Obituary of Darrell Keith Gregg

Darrell Keith Gregg born in Tacoma to Keith and Winona (Story) Gregg June 9, 1959 who passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on December 25th. He attended Washington Elementary, Mason Junior High, Stadium High School and Bates Vocational Institute in Tacoma. He is survived by his father Keith, brothers Scott, Chad (wife Nancy) and Shawn (wife Mary). He was previously married to Linda C (Lazaar) Gregg. He will always be remembered as our BIG BROTHER who showed his love with his generosity and his unconditional loyalty to family and friends. The majority of his professional career was spent at Kaiser Aluminum. Other professional interests included personal security consultant and horticulturist. His passions included being an avid dog trainer and breeder, took great pleasure in the outdoors camping and fishing and was an automotive enthusiast. His collection included Pontiac Trans-am, Camaro Z-28, Dodge Little Red Express, Kawasaki KZ1000 and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-11. His personal mantra could have been - ‘I feel the need …the need for speed’. During family dirt bike excursions he always took the lead. We are not sure what he enjoyed more --- leading the pack or having us eat his dirt. These outings typically led us into new unchartered territory and many happy adventures. During our family voyages throughout the Puget Sound and San Juan’s he could be counted on to find the mother load of clams, oysters, crab, and fish. If you didn’t already know --- seafood is a family staple. Darrell could best be described as an independent free spirit who often played by his own rules. He experienced the world on his own accord dancing to his own drum. It was these characteristics that made him special and well loved. If tears could build a stairway, And memories a lane, You'd no doubt walk up to heaven And bring him home again. Opening verse to his favorite song: Oh let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to fill my dream I am a traveler of both time and space, to be where I have been To sit with elders of the gentle race, this world has seldom seen They talk of days for which they sit and wait and all will be revealed Big Brother, you will be missed but never forgotten. Family and friends are encouraged to sign his guest book.
