Obituary of Tammy Lynn Maltby

Sept. 13, 1967 and left us on October 9, 2010 Beloved daughter of Jean Maltby Jr. of Lakewood, Washington, Linda Maltby of San Leandro, California and step-mother Patricia Maltby of Lakewood, Washington. Beloved sister of Paul Maltby of Dublin, California and Tracey Medeiros of Fall River, Massachusetts. Tammy Maltby was an identical twin to Tracey born to Jean & Linda Maltby at the Presidio in San Francisco. She was an outstanding athlete and was a Golden Gloves recipient in Softball in High School. Tammy had her troubles during her young adult hood but finally decided to get her life together. She quit drugs and went to Stanford University and graduated in the top 3% of her class receiving a certificate of completion in Acute Care Nurse Assistant. She later went on to become a Long Term Care Nursing Assistant. She moved from California to Washington in 1998 and lived with her father. She originally went to work for Advance Health Care responsible for individual patient care in home. She later went to work for Pulmonary Consultants in February 2002 and was still employed there at the time of her death. Tammy loved the water and was always swimming in the lake, summer and winter. She would freeze her butt off in the winter but would always come out of the water revitalized. She had an affinity for all animal life and had a collection of bird feathers and loved elephants. I’m sure she is riding on one now. She loved old cars but couldn’t quite grasp the fact the old cars always needed “some” attention but was becoming a good student of the mechanics that her dad taught her. Tammy enjoyed going bowling and shooting pool with her dad and having the occasional beer. She also enjoyed showing her 1965 T-Bird at car shows. She loved and supported the 49ers football team and sometimes would be the lone individual in a crowd rooting for them. Her family and many friends in Washington, California and throughout the country will miss her dearly.
