Obituary of Florence Boyce McLaughlin

Florence “Mimi” McLaughlin, nee Boyce, 91, went home to the protection of the ancestors on June 15, 2012. Mimi was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Florence and John Boyce, her husband Edward, two of her five children, Kathleen and Patrick, and her three brothers, Theodore, John, and Joseph. She is survived by three of her five children; Edward, Elizabeth, and Joan, seven grandchildren; Edward, Michael, Mary Kay, Robert, Liza, Emilie, and Erynn, nine great-grandchildren; Sean, Timothy, Michael, Sarah, Haley, Allison, John, Genevieve, and Emilie and a host of friends whom she loved, and who loved her in return. Mimi blessed us all with her personal honor, strength, compassion, dignity, perseverance, and her always quick wit and timeless sense of humor. There will be a memorial service to honor Mimi’s life at St Leo’s parish in Tacoma at 12 noon on 6 July, 2012. Interment will be at St Dominic church in Philadelphia, PA. Florence, affectionately known by her family and friends as "Mimi", 91, went home to her Creator on June 15, 2012 on the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to whom she was devoted. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends and all those whose lives she touched with her love. There will be a memorial service to honor Mimi's life at 12 Noon, Friday July 6, 2012 at St. Leo's Church, 710 S 13th St, Tacoma, WA 98405. Interment will be at St Dominic Church in Phila. PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nativity House for the homeless where her son and daughter volunteered (www.nativityhouse.org).
