Obituary of Sherry Barbara Aalborg

Sherry Barbara Aalborg, 61, of University Place, Washington, beloved mother and grandmother, died on March 8, 2008. Sherry died peacefully at home after a courageous battle against cancer and was surrounded by family and close friends. Sherry was born on April 19, 1946 in Vancouver, British Columbia to Daphne Ellis and Herbert Harris. Sherry grew up in Vancouver, Canada and graduated from high school in 1964 and continued her education and graduated from Simon Fraser University in 1991. She had a distinguished and enjoyable career with the Department of Corrections where she worked as a Community Corrections Officer from 1998-2008. Sherry cherished many long lasting friendships throughout her career with Department of Corrections. Sherry also enjoyed spending time reading and scrap-booking. Sherry is survived by her son, Steve Gower, daughters, Christie Gower and Kimberley Aalborg, children in law and love, Sharon Gower and Michael Lambert, grandsons Brennen and Kellen Gower, step-mother Margaret Harris, brother James Harris, sister Jeanne Davis and many other dear friends and family members. Sherry was preceded in death by her loving husband, Louie Lettiere, mother, Daphne Ellis and father, Herbert Harris. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Senecal and his team and Franciscan Hospice for the extraordinary care given to Sherry. A celebration of life will be held at Fircrest Golf Club, 1500 Regents Blvd. Fircrest, on Friday at 5pm. In lieu of flowers please send donations to: OHSU Cancer Institute for Sarcoma research.
