Obituary of Claude W. Ferguson

(Joe / Fergie) Born 12/16/1934 to Harley and Freeda Ferguson in Harvey, Arkansas and passed away on 3/26/2009 from heart failure. Joe was the youngest of four boys. Two other children died during infancy. He was very akin to agricultural farming and all of the antics that four boys could come up with. After graduation, he joined the US Navy and honorably discharged in 1958, serving on the USS Missouri and served in the Navy Reserves until 1962. He considered Tacoma his home of more than 50 years, was a retired machinist from Boeing and Tacoma Boat, and had worked in various wood refineries near the Port of Tacoma. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, brothers- Boise (Fuzzy) and Harvey Jr., his spouse Marjorie, and son Kenneth. Joe is survived by his brother, John (Hazel); 4 children, Judy, Sandy, Paula and Joe Jr.; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and had numerous lifelong friends. Our family sends a special thank you to Rose and Sherry for the many years of friendship and companionship. Viewing to be held 5-8PM Thursday, 4/2 at Edwards Memorial Center, 3005 Bridgeport Way W., University Place, WA 98466. Private family services will be held at a later date.
