John Hall

Obituary of John Benjamin Hall

JOHN BENJAMIN HALL was born on Saturday, August 27, 1938, in Boston, Massachusetts to Ralph and Evelyn Hall as the eldest of three children. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by brother, Robert. John departed this life on Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Franciscan Hospice House, University Place, Washington just five hours after being transferred there from home. John moved to Tacoma in 1976. He began working at Tacoma Lutheran Home in 1984 as a Certified Nursing Assistant. John loved working at Tacoma Lutheran Home and shared a special bond with many of the residents. His last day of work was on May 7, 2009. He could work with anyone and make them feel special. The most difficult resident would do anything for him. John met his loving wife, Louise, of 22 years at Tacoma Lutheran Home in 1985. He knew that she was “The One” right away and patiently waited two years for her hand. They were married in Reno, Nevada on May 12, 1987. John took the role of husband seriously. He loved and cherished Louise and took care of her until the very end. John was an avid shopper. Some of his favorite shopping holes included Big Lots, K-Mart and Target. He was a man with a big heart who fully embraced his family and friends with love and giving. He was a man whose presence blessed those who he came in contact with. He poured his life into his family, friends, and residents without ever asking for anything in return. John leaves to mourn his passing: devoted and loving wife, Louise Hall; daughter, Angelita Johnson; grandson, Warren Wells; brother, Frank Hall (Gladys); and other relatives and dear friends.
