Obituary of Henry Lee Houck

Henry was an Honor Graduate from Washington High School, Class of 1990. He was the recipient of the Washington State Principals' Scholars Program Award for Academic Excellence. Henry loved the outdoors and was a Life Scout in Boy Scouts of America. Henry served as a Corporal of the U.S. Marine Corp from 1992-1996. He earned several awards and medals during his service. Henry was stationed in Camp Pendleton, Platoon 3002 for basic training in San Diego; Bangor Submarine Base; and Okinawa. Henry is survived by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and their families. Like a ray of sunshine, my brother warmed the souls of many people. Henry was very kind and compassionate. He had this need for companionship and understanding and was far from being fulfilled. He was very intelligent and passionate about things such as working on cars, hard physical labor, and just kicking back and relaxing. I will never forget the many times that we would sit on the couch and he’d plop his stinky feet into my lap and beg for a foot rub – those were the days! Henry was very loyal and loving and especially loved children and connected with animals. He was always there for you and if he had a concern about your well-being, he was never afraid to express it to you. As my son Ryan said after hearing the news of his Uncle’s passing… “He was a really nice guy!” You will ALWAYS be in our hearts, Henry. We will miss and love you forever and we will see you once again in Heaven. All my love -- Your Sister, Chris
