Obituary of Ann Ruffin McNeill Bachand

Ann was born in Niagara Falls, New York, to her parents Thomas Ruffin McNeill and Minto Oliver Robertson and sister, Jean McNeill Sweeney Bruce. She graduated with a BS degree in chemistry from Oberlin College. Her first job was at Dow Chemical Company in Midland, Michigan working in a chemistry lab. While living and working in Midland, she met and later married her husband Jack Gordon Bachand on August 28, 1948. They raised 5 children and enjoyed 38 years of marriage. Hobbies and interests were sewing, knitting, weaving, spinning, reading, playing the piano and a love for classical music. Ann was brought up in the Presbyterian church and in the late 1960's experienced a life changing conversion. She enjoyed a strong belief in Jesus Christ as her Savior. Her unwavering faith was an encouragement to her family and friends through out her life. In 1985 Ann moved to Enumclaw, Washington to be close to some of her children who were living in the area. In 2001 Ann moved to Farrington Court Retirement Community in Kent and then to Weatherly Inn At Lake Meridian in Kent in 2007. Ann is survived by 5 children, Beth Grimm, Janet Mann, William Bachand, Mark Bachand, and Warren Bachand, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 19800 108th Avenue SE, Renton, WA 98055.
