Obituary of Lillian Bertha Mattson

Lillian B. (Schnaidt) Mattson, 86 of Tacoma, WA passed away on March 4, 2011. She was born in Hebron, ND on March 15, 1924 to John and Rosina Winterroth Schnaidt. There were 7 children in her family, 4 boys and 3 girls. In July 1948 she married Glenn A. Mattson her best friend and loving partner for life (who preceded her in death). They moved to Seattle where they raised their 5 boys and were longtime members of Boulevard Park Presbyterian Church. At retirement they moved to Olympia were they made new friends and attended Westwood Baptist Church. In 2009 they moved to Merrill Gardens in Tacoma to be closer to family. Throughout her life she loved visiting with family and friends, cooking, gardening and was a member of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia. She is survived by sons: Robert, James, David, Douglas & Wesley; grandchildren: Sue Wilhelm, Jeffrey Mattson, David Mattson, Quentin Mattson and preceded in death by her grandson Robert (Robbie) Mattson; great-grandchildren: Mallory Wilhelm and Oliver Mattson. All her family and friends will miss her. Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 2:30 pm at Merrill Gardens, 7290 Rosemount Circle, Tacoma, WA 98465
