Obituary of Carl Franklin Foster

Carl Franklin Foster, Jr. "Oscar" Carl was born on June 20, 1952 to Frank and Juanita Foster in Tacoma WA. He was a proud graduate of Curtis High School class of 1971. He loved playing all sports including tennis, baseball, basketball, golf and loved to swim. During high school and after graduation, he worked as a lifeguard at the Tacoma Elks Club, later to become a salesman for American Plumbing and Steam Supply. Carl was a member of the Tacoma Lawn and Tennis Club in his youth. He also helped participate in the Tacoma Athletic Commission. If he wasn't playing a sport, he was watching one whether it was at home or at one of his favorite watering holes. He loved his friends and family and was always the first to brag about them. He took life like a grain of salt, opening his heart to everyone that crossed his path. Carl was always quick with a comeback and always had the last laugh. He is survived by his father: Carl "Frank", daughters: Meresa, Karli and Haley, stepchildren: Keith and Tauni, sisters: Nancy DeChant (David) and Diana, granddaughter: Kaila, nephew-nieces: Larry DeChant (Tina), Danielle Milton (Craig), Ann Bruennig (Peter), grandnieces: Kailee, Cassandra, Carissa, grandnephews: Justin, Lucas, and Jeffrey. Predeceased by mother: Juanita and brother: David. A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church (602 N Orchard St Tacoma, WA) On Monday, December 7, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. A poem dedicated to our dad We will never say goodbye to our father, cause we know this is not the end for us to see each other. You will only be going to a place where there is no pain nor suffering. We are happy for you, for you will be with God. For now we need to go on our separate ways. We felt the world stop and our hearts stop beating when she told us you were gone, how we wish we were only dreaming: just like the rain, tears fell down from our eyes, and we couldn't speak. it's difficult to let you go but we must... We must return the gift God gave us.... until then, see you in heaven.... Thank you Dad. Love, Meresa Mae, Karli Nicole, and Haley Noel.
