Jack and his family were friends to the Hagens for many many years. Don Hagen and Jack shared a house for many years before Jack married Barb. WE always enjoyed the times at their Puyallup home. There were many occassions to have gatherings at our beach house and the kids loved playing in the mudflats and grabbing oysters or diggin clams. Jack was a solid friend and always willing to help. His massages were strong and still caring and gentle. I think of Jack as strong and gentle. I loved the man and treasured his freindship. I just found this guest book as I went back to see his memorial and think of him again. Hope your doing well in the afterlife Jack. WE miss you here my friend.

I just found out about Jack's passing. What a shock! Jack and I worked together for several years as 'Relief Chiefs' in the school district. Many times we were assigned to work at the same school or building, and I can tell you it was like having a day off - - - 8 hours of continuous joking and laughter. We were going to try to fly down to Denver, Co. - - - Jack to visit with his daughter, and I with my son, but our timing was never right. We were still going to try after retirement. I know Jack had several things lined up and planned for after his retirement, I'm so sad that it came down to this. My sincere condolences goes out to Jack's Family. I know how sad this news has made me, I can only imagine that it's worse for his family. I pray that God helps you through this time of sorrow. Jim Gardner

Jack was our neighbor for more than 10yrs., and most importantly was a very good friend. We all spent many evenings talking and sharing meals.Jack was a very big part of our lives. He was at most of our BBQ,Partys,Christmas, Halloween,Easter,New years and so on. He was part of our family. All thou we did not get to say good bye to Jack he was so very much loved by our family and he will always be greatly missed. He was like a brother and mentor. He was also my husbands dearest friend. Jackie your father has many times spoke very fondly of you and all of your accomplishments he was very proud of you. Your Father worked so very hard. Some times working 7 days a week just so he could give something to you after he was gone. He was a good man. and is in a much better place. My the lord bless you and your family

I worked with Jack throughout the last 17 years Jack worked for Tacoma Schools. Jack was actually the first guy who helped me and instructed me on boiler operations and how to be what he called ' a good school mechanic'. I could always go to Jack with different issues and he would help me see things from a different point of view. He wasn't always agreeable but, I think thats what most people liked about Jack, he actually told you what he thought. He was the 'real deal.' It's real sad that he didn't get a chance to do all the things he dreamed of during his hard earned retirement. I hadn't talked to Jack in number of months..I'll miss him.

I worked for Jack at Mt Tahoma the old school on Tyler St. He always had something fun to say and made comming to work more interesting with his great advice and wonderful stories. We use to have conversations about our daughters , he spoke so proudly of his daughter Jaqueline and her accomplishments. RIP Jack

It is with deep sympathy to hear about the loss of your father. He was a great man, and most of all, a friend. I worked with Jack at Mt. Tahoma up until his retirement. He was always so gracious, and did everything with a smile, a joke, or a laugh. I have missed his presence in the building since he left. His smiling face is etched in my memory! He was a great man. My prayers are with you.

We are sorry to hear of Jack passing away. Jack would pop in on Mon night and grab a bite to eat, visit, give his famous massages or just sit and visit. Jack would always give Carolyn & Pat a kiss good bye, I thought that was so caring on Jacks part. Jack and I did not always see eye on everything but he would get me to think out side of the box. WE will miss Jack at our now Sunday night dinners. May God fill your memories of all the good times you had with Jack. I will look out my window & see the flowers and plants he enjoyed & shared with us. Gods Peace be with you all. Debbie (Ertz) Lee
