She worked many years as an administrative professional for the federal government before retiring to full time boating and RVing with the Gig Harbor Yacht Club and Great American RV Club. After retiring Joe and Leone lived full time on their 50ft yacht which they operated as a charter. During their RVing years they traveled to the four corners of the North American Continent usually with club friends. They spent the winter months in Surprise, AZ where she was able to attend Spring Training for the Seattle Mariners. Leone lived and breathed Mariner stats and the TV was hers at game time. The call of the Northwest was strong and she provided the basic design for her dream home, had it built in Gig Harbor and has enjoyed it for the last nine years. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, reading and following her beloved Seattle Mariners as well as spending time with her dachshund dogs Punkin' and Katie. Her favorite comment about her life for the last 31 years was, "We lived an adventure" and this is what will be engraved on her nitche in the columbarium wall at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA. A private inurnment will be held for the family and a gathering to celebrate her life will be held at the family home in Gig Harbor from 1PM thru 4PM on Monday July 16th.
