Obituary of Loyd Charles Shoaf

Loyd Charles Shoaf was born to Clarence and Avis Shoaf in Spokane, WA. on July 30th, 1943 and he passed away in Tacoma, WA. August 26th, 2011. Loyd is survived by his only daughter , Amy Benes (Bobby). Loyd shared a very close relationship with Amy, the love of his life. Loyd was present to see the birth of his granddaughter Riley and spent six wonderful months watching her grow. Loyd is also survived by a brother John (Molly). Loyd and John, although six in a half years apart, were the best of friends. Both shared a passion for golf. Loyd graduated from Rogers High School in Spokane, WA. He also attended Eastern Washington University for a brief time. Loyd spent most of his working life as a bartender in the Tacoma area, but most recently worked for Progress House as a Facility Monitor. Loyd enjoyed spending his free time on the golf course with family and friends. Loyd was known for his quick wit and sarcasm. Loyd was loved by his family and also his numerous friends. Loyd was known as the family historian. You could always count on him to quickly provide stories from the past. Loyd and his family spent many years vacationing at Priest Lake, Idaho where his Uncle built a cabin. Loyd will rest in this beloved location next summer remembered by his family. Per Loyd’s request there will be no memorial services as he did not want anyone to dote over him. Loyd’s family misses him greatly, but knows he is up above watching over his family, while he drives his tee shot 300 yards down the heavenly fairway.
