Obituary of Vaeth Hewitt

Vaeth Hewitt Sr. “Papa” Born 9/3/1925 in Tacoma, WA to Henry Jr. and Hilda (Vaeth) Hewitt and passed away 11/16/2011 with his family by his side. Vaeth graduated from Stadium HS and attended UPS. Vaeth served with the Marine Corps Sixth Division on Guam, Guadalcanal and extensive combat on Okinawa Japan where his service rendered him a Purple Heart. He worked and retired from St. Paul and Tacoma Lumber Company/St. Regis. He enjoyed sports (especially WSU) and most of all, spending time with his family. Vaeth is survived by his 2 sons, Vaeth Jr. (Marie), Dennis (Michelle); 2 daughters, Heidi (Dave) Pear, Ellen Ann Hewitt; 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by first wife Shirley (Llewellyn) Hewitt in 1956 second wife Laura (Ellison) Hewitt in 2010 and grandson Trevor in 1977. Private interment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to send out a special thanks to the staff of Franciscan Hospice and Dr. Donald Lee for their support of our family and the incredible care they provided our father.
