Obituary of Clifford James Logan

Clifford James Logan (aka Tipper) passed away after a short illness on May 5, 2012 at his home in Tacoma, WA. Cliff was born in Painesville, Ohio on January 22, 1939. He was the only child of Clifford and Rose Vargo Logan. Cliff was raised in Mentor, Ohio, on Burridge Road. He grew up surrounded by Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and lots of cousins who made his youth a joyful experience. Cliff attended Kent State University but decided during his junior year at college to join the Marines. He served his country from 1961 until 1966. Cliff was a police officer for a few years and was even asked to become a member of the CIA. He turned that offer down to spend his time with his growing family. Cliff then went to work for the Bell System in Ohio as a Switchman in 1965. He transferred to Washington State in the 1970s and worked for Pacific NW Bell, US West, and retired from Qwest in 2001 after 36 years. Cliff loved gardening, fishing, boating and camping. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed doing anything outside, even in the rain. Sometimes he just watched birds, especially eagles flying high above. There were occasions when he would pull off the side of the road when he was driving to watch the eagles soar. He liked to go shooting at the range with his hand guns. He loved animals, especially his dogs and cats. He spent many hours outside with all of them. He enjoyed looking for good bargains at yard sales, estate sales, and auctions. Cliff was proud to be an American and an avid history buff and constitutionalist. Anyone who was willing to discuss politics with him got an earful. And, those of you who have experienced Cliff’s cooking know that he loved to cook and eat. Cliff also enjoyed a good joke and visiting with everyone he knew. Most of all he loved his family. Cliff was a life-time member of the Puyallup Eagles and the NRA. Cliff leaves behind his wife of 20 years, Sarah McFadden, Tacoma, WA. Daughter, Bonnie Logan, West Virginia; Son, Dan Logan, Texas; Son, Don Logan (Brooke), Texas; and step-daughter, Alisha McFadden (Kaniu), Tacoma, WA. Cliff has two grandsons, Derek and Landon, both from Texas. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins. Cliff requested no memorial services.
