Obituary of Janice Lee Smith

Janice Lee Smith (Grant) AKA Jane O, Stella and the yahtzee queen!!!! The lady who only did for others…. The dearest thing to her heart was our dad. Her husband Bert, she loved that man. Every morning they played SkipBo and marbles. Dad usually won but the few times she did win she would get so excited and she let dad know for a while that she won. She taught us how to be loving, caring, and giving. Thank you mom…even if she had been rich she would be poor by giving to people who needed it. She loved playing yahtzee ($.50c a game), with her friends Nanny (her sister) Carmi, Kerri berry, Mary, Heather, and Shasta she could play for hours and hours 7 days a week if they let her…. which they rarely said no to playing yahtzee 25 plus years they played that game…they even created their own version with poop rolls, checks rolls, and a favorite number to yahtzee on for extra bonus…and played 6 games at once. She also loved bingo!!!! Not winning very often but she still loved it. Her most rewarding thing to do was take care of everyone she could (especially the black-sheep). She liked having family get-togethers for no reason, just because. She had a natural gift to honestly put herself last and never ever felt sorry for herself but felt good giving what she could to others. She has five grandchildren Zac, Anthony, Alana, Kayla, and Alyssa. They were her babies and did everything for them…. Beginning when she could baby-sit, through the times they were growing up, she was there for everyone. She even tried to make yahtzee pros out of them too!!!! She was very proud of you kids ALL of YOU, asked about each of you often as you started your own lives as adults, and she understood as yours lives grew the time with her would be less…and she was ok with that as long as you guys where happy. She has a beautiful great grandson Troy who is 3years old…she didn’t get the time she deserved with him but loved him dearly while she could. Oh yeah, Stella loved to talk on the phone she called everyone she could at least 6 times a day we all laughed about that. Sometimes we had to just not answer (Sorry Mom) When mom went grocery shopping she was the coupon woman and always got something for someone else whether they needed it or not just loved to give. She truly was the woman who couldn’t quit giving…. Mom you were the best mother to us…we will miss you and love you forever. Thanks for your unconditional love You where loved…by all…and most of all, we are all peaceful knowing your suffering has ended…sleep good momma…Barbeque will be held August 3rd at 2pm @ mom & dads house. Come as You are please….
