Obituary of Carroll Edward Cosner

Carroll Edward Cosner of Tacoma, WA, passed away Saturday May 12, 2012 with his wife by his side. Carroll Edward Cosner was born March 29, 1925 to Edward and Minnie Cosner. He grew up in Mt. Vernon, Ohio with his parents and Sister Barb. He attended Mt. Vernon High where he played football. Drafted into the army at 17 he served during WW ll as a truck driver for the MASH unit. After leaving the army he returned to Mt. Vernon and worked for Chattanooga Glass then Schlaret Transfer as a truck driver and continued on 40 years as a teamster. He married Sarah McCloy Cosner on May 29, 1970 and became a dad to Sarah’s five children who fondly called him “Pops” He enjoyed sharing his love for the outdoors with his wife and children not to mention his passion for fishing. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend. He is survived by the love of his life his wife, Sarah McCloy Cosner children Lynn Marie Marchiano Flesner and husband Jeff, Thomas James Marchiano, and his wife Michelle, Joseph Charles Marchiano and his wife Kathy, Marian Catherine Marchiano White and her husband Jerry, Samuel Dixon Marchiano and his wife Carol, Leeann (Terry) Baxter, Franklin, TN, and grandchildren Benjamin, Marissa, Taylor, Joey, Madisynn, James, Colin, Alec, Coleton and Jacquelyne and sister Barb (Dick) Lorey, Fredericktown, OH. He is proceeded In death by his parents, Edward and Minnie Cosner and his daughter Connie Cosner. A memorial service was held on May 12, 2012 at Tahoma National Cemetery where he was laid to rest. Any man can become a father but it takes a very special man to be a dad. Pops, our dad, was a very, very special man .
