Obituary of Charles Edward Cook

The Angels came and took Chuck to play golf in Heaven with Jesus, the Angels, and his brother Bob on November 9, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Charles was born and raised in Midland (Tacoma) Wa. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 ½ years Opal; his 2 daughters Sandra Cirisciloi (Steve) and Jill McQuillin (Mike); 4 grandchildren Jeffrey Kozak (Kari), John Kozak (Barbara), Andrew McQuillin, and Tara McQuillin; 6 great grandchildren Kyle Kozak, Ryan Kozak, Emma Kozak, Jared Kozak, Jason Kozak, and Ava McQuillin. Numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family & friends. He is Preceded in death by his parents John and Mabel Cook, 6 brothers; Wiley, Jack, Floyd, Harold, Bob and a baby boy, 4 sisters; Laura, Nellie, Ann and Estelle, and oldest grandson Justin. Charles was in the United States Army during WWW II, he had just been deployed over seas, landed in the phillipines, got off the boat, and the War was declared over. He was a member of the Elks Club for many, many years. He retired from McChord AFB as a ground power mechanic. He and his wife traveled a bit and decided to settle in Yuma, Arizona where he loved to play golf. He played golf 2-3 days a week up until a year and a half ago.They lived in Yuma for the last 29 years before moving back to Washington. Charles could fix anything or build anything. He was a great handyman and “MR FIX IT”! Charles is going to be missed by all who loved and knew him. He had a great Sense of humor and always had a smile. He was the best dad in the whole world! There will be a “Celebration of Life” the beginning of February 2011. Contact daughter Jill for further information. Also a special thank you to his nephew Dean Mellor for all his help as well. It is truly appreciated. And last but definitely not least or forgotten, A special thank you to the Franciscan Hospice and Hospice House! Thank you for everything.
