Obituary of Paulino Lubao Castro

Mama Polly One of 10 siblings, born to Valentina and Steban Castro, he was affectionately known as "Mama Polly". He lived most of his life in the Philippines as a Professional Mechanical Engineer after earning a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology, Philippines, with studies as an undergraduate of Electrical Engineering. He migrated and settled in Washington 16 years ago, devoting 13 years as an employee of Starbucks. Mama Polly loved to play golf, loved watching old movies especially musicals. His favorite Filipino actor was Fernando Poe Jr. He loved Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Perry Como. Having traveled around the world, his favorite places to visit were Italy and Egypt. Mama Polly was an avid reader who never stopped learning. He loved to cook and always tried new recipes. A very loving and giving father and grandfather, he is survived by his four children, Edwin (Sylvia), Earlwin (Ellen), Kerwin (Sharon), and Sherwin (JoJo). A positive thinker, he gave his children names ending with "win" so they would be winners in life. A much-loved lolo, he will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Edsyl, Archie, Arsyl, Gensyl, Eve, Syl, Paula, Camille, Nathan, Matthew, Marielle, Miguel, Rafael, and Janna. He is also survived by his sisters Odette and Sabel. A very good friend to a lot of people and well-liked by his co-workers, he touched and helped so many lives in his 72 years. Mama Polly will be missed more than words can say. Funeral service to be held 5:00 PM Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Lakeview Chapel, 4606 108th St. SW, Lakewood, WA 98499.
