He retired in 1991 and settled down with his family in Tacoma Washington, working at the VA Hospital where he made many loving and caring friends. Danny was an outstanding Chef and loved to cook amazing dishes for his daughters at home. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
