I came to know Steve through his umpiring days with my husband, Dave. He was quite the character - always happy, friendly and interested in our family. He was a fun guy and very nice. We had some great times in Reno with him. I can still picture him working behind the Keno counter with that little smile on his face. I was telling our daughter about his passing, and she said, 'Oh, poor 'Uncle Steve,' - it seems like just yesterday we were putting a beer in his Christmas stocking.' I hope that is an appropriate thing to say in this guest book, but that was a big part of him to us. Rest in peace, Steve. We will all miss you, but I am so glad you are out of your pain. Hopefully, your sweet heart is in Heaven with the angels. Dave and Jean Kelly, Kara and Kristi -----------------------

Steve, I was so glad that you made it to our 50th class reunion. We talked about our high school days and the parties we had at our houses. Rest in peace my friend. God bless.

I umpired with Steve for several years. He was our assigning Secretary after Craig Lowery. He always had a funny story to tell about a game situation. He always thought he could sell any call. Jim Stellmon, WWUA

Steve was a classmate of mine at Clover Park High School and we played football together. I last saw Steve at our 50th reunion this last August. Our paths didn't cross often but each occasion was much fun. Steve will be missed by many including me. Rest in Peace my friend.

I was very sad to see the obituary for Steve in the paper. Steve worked for my father, Craig Lowry, at the Boys and Girls Clubs. My father passed away 3 years ago, and at his gathering there was Steve. It was very nice to see him after so many years. He was a smiling face in a very sad time. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. Cheri (Lowry) Starkey
