Obituary of Diana Jean Magelki

Diana was born on September 26th, 1947 in Aberdeen, WA and she passed way on April 23rd, 2010, at her home in Bonney Lake, WA. Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, June 12th, 2010 @1pm. Footprints are left on your heart by people who make an impact on your lives..... By definition a den mother is someone who takes care of and helps a group of people acting as the motherly type in their lives. My grandmother, Diana J. Magelki, was just that type of person. Marla, Aaron and my mother Heather are not only people who referred to my grandmother as mom. She took everyone in and made them family and we all knew if we ever needed anything she would be there for us. She fell into a habit always cooking and buying food, as though it was for an army, eventhough sometimes it was only her and papa. She knew she always had a revolving door. She was the encouragement when you were down, she was that nagging voice in your head when you knew you were doing something stupid. Diana wasn't the type of person to sugar coat anything, she was stubborn, upfront and didn't care what you thought. Opinionated, intelligent and kind, there was never a dull moment in her presence. The people who had a chance to know her, realize how much this loss will impact their lives and those without the chance will never quite understand. She had this way of changing your life and if it didn't work the easy way she wouldn't drop it until she did and always for the better. Hardworking, creative and a free spirited woman, she always went her own way and did her own thing just as I know she always told everyone to do. Daughter, sister, den mother to many she leaves behind. Many friends, two daughters, one son, eight granddaughters ,one grandson and many other family members. She will be missed and thought about everyday. She'll still be that voice in our heads and we will always remember we wouldn't be who we are today without her. We love and miss you, RIP.
