Comments from Debra his mother: Kyle was the first grandchild born into the Ragland and Mabry family. He was a strong willed person who had many desires in life. In his earlier years, he spent his time trying to make us smile. I could find him running around the house yelling “the castles of gray skull”. “HE MAN” was his favorite show. He loved music and dancing to his favorite Madonna song “Star Light Star Bright”. Camping was something he enjoyed doing with his family. He spent a lot of time in that motor home playing with his grandparents as they traveled around Washington State. He always had a big smile on his face when he did the things he loved. As time went on, teenage years brought him some true friends whom he loved as his family. His taste in music changed along with his need to become a man. Although he made choices that I didn’t care for, he still needed to find himself in this world. During good times and bad he was still loved by his family and friends. Every mother should know their children and know what they are capable of doing. I knew Kyle very well – he could be sly and sometimes shy. He had a wild side that matched his quiet side. He had a caring side that overpowered that attitude that came out at daring times. Telling the truth was sometimes hard for him, but when you saw that big smile light up his face, you just knew you caught him. I will miss that big smile – that caring person who was my first child, who taught me to love unconditionally. Johnathan Kyle Ragland was preceded in death by his grandmother Donna Mabry, grandfather Harold Mabry. He will be missed by his mother Debra Ragland and his father John Minor; sisters Jontaya and Jalis Ragland, fiancée Michelle Strickland, son Johnathan Jr., Jannae, extended family and friends.
