Obituary of Robert Albert Francesconi

Robert “Bob” Albert Francesconi was born July 23, 1948 at Grace Hospital in New Haven, CT. He was the second son of Edward Francesconi and Josephine Leperi Francesconi. As a child growing up in West Haven, he loved playing baseball and was a Boy Scout. Bob attended Notre Dame High School in West haven, CT. Upon graduation, he attended Southern Connecticut State College where he received a BS in Biochemistry. He then relocated to Bowling Green, OH and received a MA and PhD in Communications from Bowling Green State University. Bob began his teaching career at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. He also taught at Behrend College in Erie, PA. While in Erie, he became involved with public broadcasting. He worked with both WQLN Radio and WQLN Television. He was involved with the writing and production of several documentaries for public television. In his later life, he worked in both market research and real estate. Bob owned his own business, Francesconi Communications. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, fantasy baseball, reading, listening to jazz, spending time with friends and following his beloved Boston Red Sox. Bob is survived by his longtime companion, Andra Motyka; his two children, Kenneth Francesconi and Nicolle Francesconi Payne; his brother, Richard Francesconi; his nephew, Richard Francesconi, Jr.; his niece, Maria Francesconi and his six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Francesconi and Josephine Leperi Francesconi, and his brother, Edward C. Francesconi.
