Obituary of Georgine Robinson

Tina Robinson embarked on her journey to be with the Lord and her loved one’s who preceded her in death (son, Adam, her “favorite” son-in-law (& friend) Hugo, and numerous family and friends) on October 20, 2010, in Tacoma, Washington, surrounded by love. She is also survived by family members in Germany, including her brother Alex and his wife Kathy, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Tina lived a life of which novels are written. Born in Bamberg, Germany, in 1923, she endured poverty and war-torn Germany during her youth; yet the memories she shared of those times, focused on good times and her family’s ingenuity and perseverance in light of adversity. In June of 1955, she met a young American soldier and love of her life, Leonard, who fell in love with her and married her, a widow with 5 children (Hannelore (Hugo), Peter, George (Wendy), Adam (Debbie) and Alex (Kathi). With very little money, but a whole lot of love, they had 3 more children (Sandra, Jennie (Ken) and Dennis) and, once again, this time with her companion and friend (of 55 years), they persevered and proceeded to live life to the fullest. She was a loyal, loving wife; a caring, protective, nurturing mother; and a joyful friend who loved to share her stories and laughter. Tina was proud of her German heritage and was a long-time member of the Hermann German Lodge. She enjoyed the “freundschaft” and often brought family and friends with her to the traditional German celebrations. She believed in sustaining the German heritage and sharing her festive spirit. She loved to dance with her partner Leonard, and, as in their relationship, they became one on the dance floor. Over the span of her 87 years on this earth, she was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren (Tammy (Nicholas), Donna , Scott; Tannen (Colton and Fallon); Robert (Emily & Chloe); Adam, Richard, Amanda (Janessa & Stephen); Kevin (Kyle, Katie & Karlie), Eddie (Emmalee Stephanie (Kadin); Richard (Mateo), Christopher and Felicia). She is the heart, spirit, and light of her family. A void is left which can never be filled and words cannot do justice to the immense sense of loss. Yet, in her honor and spirit, we will move forward and persevere without her here on earth. We will carry her love (and cherish her memory and stories) in our hearts, until the day we are all together again to bask in the light and love of the Lord. Schlaf schön liebe Mutter.
