In 1995 C H retired from Boeing with more than 35 years of service. He spent as much time as possible watching his grandchildren grow. Over the years he would spend time working on Patti’s old houses and took pride in being a perfectionist and a wonderful carpenter. C H had a quietness that pulled people in, he was allusive and enjoyed his privacy. Family and friends will always remember him as a skilled carpenter and the guy that loved to be free with the wind in his face. “ Life shouldn’t be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely with a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly shouting WOW, WHAT A RIDE!” –unknown A Military Honors Ceremony in his memory will be held Friday, September 10, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St. Kent, WA 98042.
