Obituary of Judy Ann Taylor

Judy Ann Harshman Taylor passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2008 ending a 15-year battle with a rare type of thyroid cancer. She was born in Tacoma April, 2, 1948, the youngest of six children, and lived in the greater Tacoma area all of her life. Surviving her are her husband, Dr. Allan “Max” Warner, two brothers, Bruce Harshman of Lyman and Eugene Harshman of Edgewood, and her sister Roberta Marshall, also of Edgewood. Others include her sons, Troy Taylor of Sumner and Todd Taylor of Spanaway, six grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. Judy, a graduate of City University and a certified public accountant, worked for over 20 years in the Budget and Finance Department of Pierce County government, where she was the long-time Chief Accountant. She was active in professional accounting associations, and her work brought the department repeated awards for excellence. In addition to her professional life, Judy was also an accomplished and prize-winning photographer and was a member of the Tacoma Photographic Society, serving at times on the Board of Directors. Though very busy, nothing meant as much to her as her family, and she will be sorely missed. Her grandchildren were especially dear to her, and she maintained a “night out with grandma” with each one. Always optimistic and cheerful despite her long illness, she set a remarkable example for all who knew her. Observances will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the Franciscan Hospice House, 2901 Bridgeport Way West, University Place, WA 98466.
