Obituary of Rose Marie Margaret Collazo Castro

During the early hours of April 9, 2024 Rose Collazo Castro, 61, of Tacoma WA, passed peacefully into God’s arms and gained her wings.

Rose was the eldest of eight children born to Jose Collazo and (Elsie) Grace Good.

She was extremely creative and artistic. She had many hobbies, including quilting, sewing, dollmaking. She made many of her children’s Halloween costumes when they were young. She was an avid reader, gardener, and beautiful singer. Although she held many jobs over the years, she was most notably a self-titled Mad Soap Maker, Small Business Owner and Karaoke Host.

Rose was predeceased by her parents, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Rose is survived by the love of her life Carlos Castro, her seven children Carlos Castro, Michael Castro, Sean Castro, Elizabeth Castro, Alicia McArthur (Devone), Ashley Castro, Peter Castro, her 20 grandchildren, and her seven siblings.

She was always Mom and Nana first and foremost, she loved her children fiercely and made sure to put them first through everything. She had a very welcoming personality and made friends seemingly without trying. She sang like an angel and knew how to get a party started.

Rose was the strongest woman we’ve ever known. Prior to her passing she asked us not to mourn her loss, but to celebrate her life by loving others as she did, spreading God’s word as she did, and by seeing the good in everyone as she did.

We are sure that she is in heaven right now singing to her hearts content pouring her love down upon us. Rest easy Mom.
