Obituary of Edward Luther Elliott Jr.

Tacoma, WA — Edward Luther Elliott, Jr. December 29, 1946 to March 15, 2023 Ed (Eddie) was born December 29, 1946 to Annie and Edward Elliott in Prince Frederick, Maryland. Eddie grew up in Broomes Island, Maryland where he loved crabbing and fishing in the Patuxent River and Chesapeake Bay, he enjoyed Blue Crab with Old Bay seasoning. He passed away peacefully with his family at his side on March 15, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Washington. First Sergeant Elliott was an Air Force veteran, graduate of Calvert High School, and earned his Associate Degree in Radar Technology from the Community College of the Air Force. During his 23 proud years in the military, he served in Vietnam and deployed to numerous countries including Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Korea and Germany. He retired from the USAF and became a small business owner operating a sports card store while also delivering The Tacoma News Tribune paper. Ed shared that he had a full life and it’s been a “helluva run”. He loved classic rock music, singing and playing guitar; we enjoyed his jam sessions. He was a sports fan, enjoyed math, history, horse races, classic cars, and movies, but especially holiday time with his grandkids. He was content to spend time with family and friends, sharing good food, conversing and playing strategy games like chess and battleship with his grandkids. Ed celebrated his 76th birthday on December 29, 2022. He survived his late wife, Nancy (Monahan) Elliott after celebrating 44 years of marriage. He was the loving and devoted father of Brian Elliott, Linda Elliott, Samual Hagerman, Sandra (Hagerman) Lee, Bonnie (Elliott) Nau and proud grandfather of Athena, Kathryn, Amy, James, Logan, Maeryn, Trish, Brianna, Vinnie, Lindsey and Brooke. He was also a great grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend of many loving people, too many to name here, but please know that he lived for and loved each one of you. His kind nature, humor and love of music will long be remembered by all who knew him. Keep jammin’ dad! Edward Luther Elliott, Jr. "Eddie"
