Obituary of Rachel Lanette Sizer- Williams

Rachel Sizer-Williams, 56, of Tacoma, Wa. went to be with our Lord on June 18,  2022 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. 

 

She was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Ran and Elizabeth Carper and John and Aurelia Sizer. 

 

Rachel was a dedicated mother to her sons Damon and Aidan. She was happiest when hiking, kayaking and camping with her husband Jim who she spent the last 38 years. 

She shared her love for art and children and spent many years as an Art Teacher at First Presbyterian Preschool in Tacoma. She was a dedicated member of Discovery Church of Tacoma for 20 plus years where she joyfully took care of the children in the nursery. 

Her passion for helping others did not end at home. One of her proudest moments came with a mission trip to Liberia where she spent time loving and teaching many children. 

She became an invaluable part of University of Puget Sound as an Administrative Assistant for the Language Department. It was here that she developed many strong friendships with both faculty and students. 

Rachel never met a stranger and all who met her are better for having known her. She loved to talk and share her experiences. Her laugh was infectious and brought a smile to many faces. 

 

She loved being Aunt and Great Aunt to her Nieces and Nephews. 

Her love extended for her family from Washington to Virginia.

 

Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Damon “Jim” Williams; Sons, Damon Williams and Aidan Williams; Father, Gary Sizer; Mother, Roberta Cuzzetto; Sister, Melissa Sizer Lewis (Troy); Brother, Charles Cuzzetto (Rebecca); and Many nieces, nephews 

and cousins. 

 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice House, 2901 Bridgeport Way West, University Place Wa. 98466. They were invaluable to family at a very difficult time. 

 

A simple memorial service at Rachel’s request, will be held at Titlow Beach on Saturday, June 25th at 7 am for friends and family who would like to join together in her memory.
