Obituary of Mark Alan Burns

Mark Alan Burns of Tacoma Washington, born in Lynchburg Virginia on Dec. 11, 1959 passed away on April 17, 2022. He was 62. Preceded in death by his mother Shelby Jean Patterson and son Nicholas Keatts both of Lynchburg Virginia. Mark was survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia Pascale Burns, his devoted daughter Katrina Burns Moon, her husband Robert (Tony) Moon and their six children: Austin, Mark Anthony, Nathan, Noah, Elliana, and Alden Moon; all of Tacoma WA, two brothers Lawrence Russell (Buddy) Patterson and Lane Marshall (Junior) Patterson and wife Rhodna all Lynchurg VA, a host of nieces and nephews, Aunts, Uncles, and many cousins, a beautiful Aunt Janice who loved Mark like he was her own son. Mark was a devoted husband, father, son, grandfather (Paw), brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin. Mark loved his family dearly. He will always be loved and missed. 

Born and raised in Lynchburg, Mark was a Professional Painter. Employed by Kenneth McCullough’s Painting for many years then starting out on his own with his wife and business partner Cindy when they formed Mark Burns Painting and worked together for 2 decades. Mark was a wonderful father to Katrina and Nicholas. He was very proud of his children. Mark adored his grandchildren and from the moment he found out he was going to be a grandfather he was so happy. Mark spent his remaining years moving around with Robert (Tony) and Katrina and his wife Cindy exploring many states and wonders with them. Mark was a loving and caring son, and he and Cindy watched over Shelby until her last day. He was a loving uncle who never failed to ask about all his nieces and nephews. He kept in touch with his Aunt Janice and let them all know how much he loved them. 

Mark left his impression on everyone he met. Aside from family and friends, Mark loved his music, driving, basketball, and all the old TV shows. Mark will be sorely missed!
