Marcia Crook

Obituary of Marcia Ann Crook

Marcia Ann Crook (Hoover), 69, was called to Heaven on Tuesday March 15th, 2022, at Tacoma General Hospital in Tacoma Washington. She was born March 18th, 1952, in Clinton Iowa, the fourth of nine children, to Amos Samuel Hoover and Hildegard Ann Hoover (Parth).

Marcia was a resident of Clinton for 31 years, attending Sacred Heart Catholic School in her youth, and worked in local hospitality and industrial businesses. In August of 1983, she moved her family to Washington State. Marcia lived in Haines Alaska from 1986 - 1987, then returned to Washington State where she lived the remainder of her life. She truly enjoyed the beauty that Washington State offered from mountains to the Pacific Ocean shores. Her pleasure travels outside of Washington included visiting family in San Diego California, going shopping in Tijuana Mexico, taking a roadtrip to Chico California, visiting Mount Lassen Volcanic National Park, and traveling to Reno Nevada to visit a best friend.

She had a great love for music. Listening to the local radio station's "Breakfast with the Beatles" every Sunday was one her favorite pastimes. Faith and Humor were her life antidotes. She loved puzzle and card games, watching sitcoms, and, most of all, keeping in touch with her family and friends either in person or through social media.

During the past 20 years she took turns living with each of her four children. Being there for her adult children and helping raise her grandchildren was the greatest blessing to her. She truly praised God for her family.

Marcia is survived by her four children; Crystal Geppert (Jason) of Tacoma Washington, Mindy Crook of Maple Falls Washington, Shauna Crook of Tacoma Washington, and Jeremy Crook of Fife Washington; seven grandchildren; Steven, Alyssa, Mariah, Chase, Alexis, Tristan, Georgia, and Beau, and five great-grandchildren, by three sisters; Mary Peterson of Rice Washington, Margaret Gibson of Clinton Iowa, and Patricia Beaston (Mickey) of Dewitt Iowa, and two brothers; Wilfred Hoover of Indianapolis Indiana and Roger Hoover of Sacramento California.
