Obituary of Elizabeth Glover

On Saturday, April 9, 2022, Elizabeth “Beck” Glover, a beloved mother of four generations, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the age of 83. At the time of her death, Elizabeth’s place of residence was Lakewood, Washington.

Born Elizabeth White on June 19, 1938 in Blakely, Georgia to Amie “Amy/Ammie” Lee White and Joseph “Joe” Bass of Blakely, Georgia. Throughout her life she held many jobs from sharecropping, farming, vineyard worker, logging, housekeeping, childcare, club and cafe owner. Elizabeth would spend her life working and serving others. Her favorite job, by far, was being a spot welder at Sunshine Metal Products Company in Arlington, Georgia.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, husband Robert Glover, Sr., son Robert Glover Jr.; grandchildren Tiffany Williams and Andre Ponder; great granddaughter Key’anna White; her siblings Johnny B. Thornton, Curtis Thornton, Robert Thornton, Willie C. Thornton, Calvin “Calvian” Foster and Ruby L. Ranson. She also lost a significant other, James Hall.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her children Willie James (Hazel) White, Joann Williams, Bobby (Cynthia) Ponder, Jeanette Avery, Cynthia Lewis, Jesse (Sheryl) Hall, and Bobbie (Russell) Jones. Countless beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Her siblings Christine Lofton, Johnny Thornton, Jimmy Thornton, Tommy Lee Foster, Benjamin Thornton and Mary Ann Winns.

As per her request, there will be no memorial service. Instead, she wished for her family to live a good life and treat each other with loving kindness and respect.
